Welcome to our Fitness Blog. Please feel free to visit Fast ways to lose weight to read about my fiance’s journey to a new level of fitness.
I work as a Spinning Indoor Cycling Instructor and have developed off season fitness training programs to prepare bicyclists for the spring season. I like to use heart rate training to work in the off season. I find that too many people train too hard too often and I have also been guilty of this in the past. My program always starts by getting all the participants to recover take a couple of weeks to relax, not stop working out. Recovery is working out at a low intensity level less than 60% of max heart rate.
After taking a minimum of two weeks on the recovery program. We move to Aerobic base building, then strength, intervals, and longer endurance rides. The fitness training program lasts 12 to 15 weeks and usually at that point the riding season has started here in Michigan and we finish up with a half century (50 mile ride) outdoors. It is a great way to start the outdoor riding season on a strong note.

Diet Plans for 14-Year-Old Girls
Planning a diet for a teen girl can be tricky. Many teen girls suffer from bad self esteem or a skewed body image, and may resort to crash diets that they don’t need to be healthy. Instead of suggesting a diet, suggest a healthy diet plan, where she can learn to eat properly, along with exercise to create a healthier self image. As long as your teen has a healthy body mass index, or BMI, then she does not need a diet to lose weight. A diet plan that can maintain her health is all that she needs.
Planning a Diet
1. When your 14-year-old girl indicates that she wants to eat healthier, or you’ve noticed her body changing, it’s important to calculate her BMI to see where she falls. Unlike adult BMI, a teen’s BMI is calculated and then compared to other teens to give a percentile that she is in for her weight and height, much like you’d receive at the doctor’s office. The BMI can give you a clue as to whether she simply needs a diet plan to eat more healthy, or if she’ll need a diet plan for weight loss. With a healthy BMI, your 14-year-old girl will enjoy better quality of life.
Regular Meals and Snacks
2. One of the most important things to incorporate into a 14-year-old girl’s diet plan is regular meals and snacks throughout the day. Teenagers are especially susceptible to skipping meals like breakfast and lunch: the first because she’s running late, and the second due to pressure from peers to eat as little as possible. However, skipping meals sends your 14-year-old’s body into starvation mode, telling it to store up fat for the next skipped meal. Eating regular meals actually causes a teen’s metabolism to run faster, burning more calories in preparation for the next snack. Talk to her about the importance of regular eating, both for maintaining energy, concentration and focus through the day, and as an important tool for weight loss.
Better Meals and Snacks
3. Too often teen girls eat meals and snacks that are less than ideal. While you want her to eat regularly, you also want her to eat quality food that will help her on her quest for a healthier diet. Make it easy for her by supporting her diet. Send her to school with a variety of healthy snacks like nuts, vegetables and crackers to snack on between school periods, and opt for a homemade lunch over cafeteria fare, which can be greasy and unhealthy. Talk to her about staying full with the right foods, those that are high in nutrients, but still low in fat and calories. Armed with the right information, your 14-year-old girl can follow a diet plan to keep her healthy, and gain eating tools to help her for the rest of her life.
I’m in my teens and I have a small amount of unwanted flab which I want to get rid of before summer. What sort of exercises would you say work fastest and most effectively towards weight loss?
Hi Chloe;
Start the day off right. A nutritious breakfast will jump start your metabolism and give you energy to face the day ahead.
The key is to get active. Participate in team sports through school or community programs. Not for you? Try to walk, bike or rollerblade to school. How about jumping rope or even walking the dog? Helping around home such as vacuuming, washing the car can have aerobic benefits.
Drink lots of water. Avoid drinks high in calories and sugar like sodas, juices and other drinks out there.
One good tip in reducing your food intake, stop eating when you are already full. Walk away from the table.
As much as possible replace any "junk food" with fresh fruit and vegetables. Not only will you lose weight, you will also keep your heart and body healthy. Avoid quick fixes. Fad diets can deplete your body of calcium, Iron and other essential nutrients.
Just remember, when attempting to lose any weight, be sure you do it in the safest way possible. Before you know it, you will have met your goal before summer.
i am 14 yrs old, 5′6, and 126 lbs. i know that i am at a healthy weight, but i still want to get more fit. what is a healthy weight loss for me?
Figure out your Base Metabolism Rate, That is how much your body burns each day, Eat right at that, Now your a girl so guys want a girl with a nice firm lower body abs down and tone up your arms so you can look sexy in a sleeveless, Remember to get 30 mins of running/swimming/ jump roping in and if you can do lunges, squats, and crunches, a gym is perfect since you can add weight, push ups will also tone you up, just eat more dense nutritious food.
I have been researching different options of weight loss centers(Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, LA weight loss) They are all quite expensive. Weight Watchers being the least. Does anyone know of any that do not cost too much money but are still effective and provide support?
Low calorie diets are a great way to create a slow metabolism. If your ultimate goal is to create a slow metabolism than a low calorie diet is the way to go…………………I seriously doubt you are looking for a slow metabolism
. I found a great video on youtube that explains what happens to your body on a low calorie diet

I hope this discourages you from cutting your calories way back to lose weight!!
I am in need to lose some pounds (as prescribed by my doctor for my TTC journey) and I searched online for fruits and veggies that could give me energy and some weight loss. Does anyone know which fruits and veggies could help me loss weight and give me energy?
I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.
Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace .com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.
Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.
I’m 5′2", am under the age of 20, weigh 119 lbs and have a 29 inch waistline.
My goal:
To be 110 lbs. and have a 24 inch waistline.
I want to be able to reach this goal in, maybe, 2 months. My daily exercises will include:
2 hours of tennis.
1 hour on a bicycle.
Maybe 30 minutes of power walking.
Crunches, Bicycle Crunches, The Plank, and Leg Lifts.
My eating habits are very healthy. I’m not a calorie-counter, though. I really don’t feel the need to do math to eat food. My breakfast is usually half a cup of cheerios, w/ skim milk. I may have fruit instead, though. My lunch is usually just an assortment of veggies, maybe some Triscuits thrown in, too. And I have a variety of dinners, all home-cooked and healthy. I may have a dessert, which is usually a sugar-free popsicle or some cookies made with Splenda instead of sugar. Not every day is like this, obviously it differs, but it doesn’t change a whole lot health-wise.
So, in your opinion, is this a realistic weight loss program?
You dont want to hear this but your body is already healthy and already at a weight that it wants to be in. You don’t even eat that much and your body will not be able to handle that much excersize with that amount of food. If you dont like math while your eating food. Forget the math when it comes to the scale and your waistline. You will end up frustrating yourself.
See guys I am really going hardcore and trying to lose some weight. I heard some weight loss pills work better than others. But what is the best brand?
If you are looking the best weight loss solution, i suggest doing what this mom did
